TC and Peggy Wall

TC and Peggy Wall have long been active supporters of Plainview and its people. Members of the First Baptist Church since they moved here in 1969, they realized how important Wayland Baptist University is to the community, and they responded with an extraordinary commitment on a human level. As part of the church’s Adopt a Wayland Student program, they have sponsored a number of students over the years, opening their home to them, acting as a second family, and sometimes providing financial assistance. They continue to “adopt” students and have also endowed a scholarship at the university. Peggy serves on Wayland’s board of trustees. Giving back to the community has been a way of life for the Walls and their children.

TC Wall was born in Lamesa, Texas in 1931, and Peggy Joyce Glasgow was born in Temple, Oklahoma in 1934. They were married in 1954 in Temple. TC served in the Army from 1951 to 1953 at Fort Sill in Oklahoma. Before moving to Plainview, they owned and managed a White’s Auto Store in Temple.

The Walls moved to Plainview in 1969 and purchased a ready-mix concrete company that became High Plains Concrete, a business their sons now run. They began a lifetime of volunteerism through the activities of their four school-age children and through their church. They soon joined the Plainview Chamber of Commerce. Peggy served on the Chamber’s sports committee and eventually in every capacity in the Chamber’s Women’s Division, including its presidency in 1980–81. She was named the Chamber’s Woman of the Year in 1993.

They have 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
